I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible response to this Healing Through Art Giveaway. A total of 74 nominations were received, each filled with heartfelt stories of resilience, love, and the deep connections that make our community so special.
After much reflection, I have selected 6 winners to receive the crystal mandala paintings. These individuals were chosen based on the strength of their stories and the number of nominations they received. Their stories truly touched my heart and aligned with the healing intention of this collection. To protect the winners’ privacy, their names will not be shared publicly, but I want to assure you that each painting will find its way to someone deeply deserving. To everyone who took the time to nominate someone: thank you for your participation, your kindness, and your love for this community. Your words have been a powerful reminder of the strength and compassion we share as we continue to heal together. Bringing healing and reconnection to those affected by the floods.
Our beloved river Te Wairoa Hopupu Honengenge Matangi Rau is not just a body of water; it is a living, breathing entity imbued with its own consciousness and spirit. For generations, it has been the lifeblood of the Wairoa community, nourishing the land, the people, and the ecosystems it touches. But just as the river gives, it also takes and Its flooding reminds us of its power and the need to respect its rhythms.
I felt inspired to create this special collection of mandala paintings using blue kyanite and quartz crystals to bring healing to our awa, our whenua and our people following the flooding events. These artworks are designed to radiate healing energy to those who are struggling, to reconnect our community to the spirit and strength of our river and to serve as a symbol of hope for the future.
All who live in Wairoa have been affected in some way by the flooding in our district, some way more than others but these events have touched all of us in some way. I want to honour those most affected by giving away all 6 paintings in this Awa Collection to people who have been nominated to receive one.

This giveaway was for Wairoa locals only and only nominations for people who live in the Wairoa District were accepted.
Winners were chosen based on how many nominations they receive and their individual stories.
The people who nominated the winners have be notified of the result so they can let the chosen recipients know and be part of gifting the piece.
